Many people think that in a bedroom setting, black is a masculine color. It is true that black is a popular color for men’s bedding, but since it is a neutral color, it can be just as appropriate for a woman, and for a couple. Black goes with everything, so you don’t have to worry about your black sheets or comforter clashing with the color of the walls, rug, carpet, furniture, or anything else in the room.

As versatile as black is, there are some disadvantages to it. It absorbs light, and so it tends to darken the room it’s in, especially if it takes up a lot of space, like a bedspread does.
