If you thought jumpsuits were strictly casual wear, you will be surprised at the new styles available these days. They have gone from the backyard to the club, and the formal affair. They feature all sort of neck lines, from v-necks to plunging, round, draped or halter-style; and various leg styles, from skinny, to cropped, bell bottom or even palazzo style. They also vary in length, from romper-style short legs to models that actually touch the floor.
These are all very classy – I like all four:

If you are planning on wearing a necklace, you may want to get a jumpsuit that shows off your neck. Something with a deep V-neck for example, or something strapless. If you will be wearing some flashy heels, you may want to get something with a shorter leg, like a capri or three-quarter length leg. Another way to dress up a jumpsuit is with a belt. Some models have a belt incorporated in their design.
