An increasingly popular way to display paintings and photographs is to place them on easels rather than hang them on the wall. And some easels are works of art in themselves: elaborately carved wooden models that make a decorative statement. These are of course more expensive than the simpler models, but if your budget allows it, they can be a beautiful addition to any room.

Faux bamboo curtain rods
Curtains rods made of wood definitely have more elegance than metal ones. But bamboo is a wood that is exceptional when it comes to decor. It is the wood to get if you are going for a tropical theme in your living room, dining room or bedroom. Paired with some palm leaf curtains, the look should be be beach-y and fun. Of course, you don’t have to go for the real thing. There are faux-bamboo rods that will do the job just as well, and look just like the real thing.
Here’s a pretty typical example of this type of rod, I think:

Yellow chevron tablecloth
The chevron pattern seems to one that works best when it is printed on a large, flat surface. For that reason, it is ideal for tablecloths. The most common color combination for chevron patterns seems to be black and white, but lately more and more colors are available, including yellow. Ideal for brightening up a kitchen, because yellow is the color of sunshine. Often, plastic and cloth versions are both available in the desired color.
I own something like this one, but with thinner zig-zags. I love it:

If you opt for a plastic tablecloth, it is probably because you want to use it just a few times.
